Leave the STOCK one on or get an LS6 INTAKE???
Can u see an LS6 intake benefiting me at the track in any way? I dont care at all about Dyno numbers. Could i get .1 out of an ls6 intake??
These are the mods;
ST3500, ASP pulley, FLP's, TR-224 Cam, MMS TB, boltons, etc.. (stock heads)
whatya think? Does the cost justify the gains??
thanks

Sounds good, keep em rollin. The only thing that concerns me bout that Holley intake is the heat factor. That ls1 intake is a plastic piece and i can practically put my whole hand on it after i run at the track and that manifold is STILL not hot.
plus i dont know how a holley intake would be in a 'every dayer' car especially considering the heat factor

At this point, don't even bother with the Holley intake. A LS6 intake should be worth close a tenth on your car.

I’ve been asking myself the same question. I’ve got a B1 going in and I’ve considered the LS6 intake too. I was going to wait until I did heads, but maybe I’ll do the intake first.

Was that just at peak? What were the across the board gains (average)?

The gains were nice throughout the graph. I'll see if Justin can post the graph, if he has it.

cool. I've got an LS6 intake on order. So you went from 322 rwhp to 343 with JUST the addition of the LS6 intake and MAFT tuning, on a stock engine ?

Jack, where are you getting the LS6 intake. Remember to get it with the EGR provision, I'm still waiting for my EGR Bypass kit from Jay Fisher Pontiac

whats so much better about the holley?? i have yet to see any gains/advantages with the holley vs. the ls6 because this manfiold is too new. Plus, again, i dont like the heat factor that the HOlley brings along with it.
Tony,
no EGR provision, i got my EGR off, so thats just more junk i can take outa the engine bay

Re: Leave the STOCK one on or get an LS6 INTAKE???
For 98% of us the LS6 intake is the best way to go. The Holley intake can be ported, yes but 10 minutes after you fire up your car the manifold is heat soaked. This increases your intake charge and makes you more susceptible to detonation. It negates the whole purpose. However, if you have a drag car w/an LS1 in it then you MAY see some improvements. The heat soak issue is not worth a few thousandths of an inch in porting ability. Again, this is just my opinion

Re: Leave the STOCK one on or get an LS6 INTAKE???
Thanks for the input guys. It sounds like this Intake is worth some ponies/torque. Hopefully those extra ponies/torque will bring down my e.t. a lil bit. Im in the process of buyin one right now, so i'll have some track results next week.
