Default Hooker or SLP Dual/Dual for Off Road Pipe Setup!

I did a search but didn't find too much on this. I'm getting the new Grotyohann 1 7/8's longtubes installed along with a three inch off road pipe, right now I have the Loudmouth exhaust. While I realize that this setup will scare small children I'm a little worried about it being too loud. I've heard that the Slp Dual/Dual is free flowing and quiet but I've also heard is weigh's a lot too. The Hooker I've heard is light (aluminized) free flowing and pretty cheap. Getting a stainless steel exhaust isn't too big a deal because I live in Cali. I've heard the SLP 2OTL is nice but I just don't like the look of a single exiting exhaust on these cars. What do you guys think? TIA ~tony

I was going to say get 2OTL, but if you don’t like the look then obviously that’d be a bad choice. My next choice would then be dual/dual.

I must say though, 2OTL looks badass on ANY F-bods IMO. Sounds badass with an ORY too...

I've had both systems, and I currently have the SLP dual/dual. The Hooker catback will definitely be louder than the SLP. Both systems are quality and will completely eliminate the raspy sound of no cats. The Hooker has an AWESOME sound to it, but it will be a little on the louder side w/ the ORP and headers. However, it might be quiet to you since you have a Loudmouth now. I've track-tested my dual/dual three different times, and not once have I reduced my ET or gained any MPH by opening the cutout. I wanted it to be as quiet as possible and still flow really well. The SLP dual/dual does this perfectly.

I was thinking of putting a bullet muffler in place of the resonator for the Loudmouth, this is obviously the cheapest and most free flowing, but will a bullet muffler eliminate the rasp?

Yes..it will..my friend had that on his 2000 SS and it sounded great..still quite loud, but nice. I have the hooker now with hollow cats and it sounds awesome to me. It seems to flow well as well. Any one of the choices listed above would work great with your setup.

The Loudmouth is going to scream no matter what you do.

Find an D/D takeoff for 200 bones - can't beat it...

Ok I've eliminated that SLP Dual/Dual from the equation and now it's between welding a Borla XR-1 bullter muffler in my Loudmout or getting the Hooker. If the bullet muffler will eliminate the rasp I'll probably go with that

RPM WS6, I swear man you are the SLP D/D pimp. Everytime I see a post, I know you're gonna be there.

Well I guess I am the Hooker pimp, err pimp of the Hookers . I love my Hooker catback, best sounding exhaust I have ever seen/heard/owned on an LS1 w/out cats. The SLP D/D is an excellent system also, but a tad to quiet for me. IMO the Hooker is perfect, very tame around town but SCREAMS when you open it up. Cheers
