How is everyone doing with the new valve? My car is still using a little oil but it has been cut down alot since the new valve. Joe..

I've only had mine in for about 250 miles, but no usage so far...

I would use about 1/16 of a quart every 150~200 miles, and now I'm at none (knocking on wood )

Sorry, I'm stupid!! Is this the vertical PCV?! Is this the truck one? Does it fit where the old one did? I'm getting ready to a top-end clean, and do the PCV. I don't really use oil, but peace of mind, right?

Mine has been on for about 2500 miles. I never had a bad problem with oil consumption, but the TB was always coated with oil. I recently had the intake off and there is still oil present but not as much. I would say it cuts down on the oil sucked in but does not eliminate it. I was debating grinding off the block casting to use the LS6 valley pan but decided the risk was too high getting some debris in the motor.

I'm assuming were're talking about the Truck PCV valve. I have approximatley 2000 since changing to the new valve and I have had ZERO oil consumption. To make things better, it also seem to have cut high RMP knock down as well. It did not eliminate my knock, but it has reduced.

HEy you guys put a filter in vacuum line between intake vacuum port and pcv valve, this will remove oil from vapors, i bought a 3/8"in 3/8" out Auto Zone fuel filter and some collapse resistant rubber hose to make kink less connection. This is cheap and easy and it will definitely work!I will post my excellent results when i have them.

I did this awhile back. Still working.

I have been reading on the oil use thing since I have 1. Seems to be PCV in most cases. I think I came up with another mod. I took a crankcase filter out of an older chevy breather and removed the element, using 1/3rd of it and puting it in the tube rite before the pcv vave. Pullout pcv valve and put it in. Not stuffing but making it fit. 1 oil change on record but NO OIL USE! Change element every oil change. Monitor at ur driving habits. hopes this helps!
It looks stock.

I've had mine in for about 750 miles and have shown no oil consumption since.

Did the replacement and oil consumption before was about 1 quart/1000 miles and I just reached the 1000 mile mark after installing new part and had to add exactly 1 quart so the part did nothing for me.

I have a 99ss with about 37k miles with b1cam, flp headers, etc.

SB, perform a top engine clean then monitor oil consumption with new valve.

Been following this loosly. Let me know if this sounds familiar guys.

I picked up my 02' Avalanche, and shortly after I got it I noticed every now and then that it puffs smoke from the exhaust on the start-up after it has been sitting a bit.

Sound familiar?

I had #1257217 in there for a while and it did let less oil through than the stocker. It would probably be even more effective when mounted vertically.

I have the SMH PCV mod w/ inline fuel filters on there now, and I am really surprised at the amount of oil the filters catch... I never knew it was that much, and I bet lots of folks would be surprised to know just how much oil is coming through their stock PCV system...

So far ZERO oil used with the fuel filter catch system. My only concern was that they restrict the flow too much, but the oil in the filters is an obvious indicator that there's air coming through.

Happy driving,
BadAss30th
