T1 and Mac LT numbers..are these about right?
I just had the car dynoed today. I dynoed 311hp and 315tq before the cam and headers. I dynoed 352 hp and 356 tq is that about right? I don't have a ported TB or a u/p. I am getting these this week hoping to see higher numbers....just thought there was more HP somewhere hidden. Anything I can do to free some more up, besides these bolt and a ls6 intake?

macs arent really long tubes(i dont think anyway) more like mid length. i think those are pretty good numbers. custom tuning and ls6 wouldnt hurt, probably give you another 20. pretty good for stock heads

You definately have some more power potential. Some tuning and an LS6 intake will pull a good bit more power out of the car...
Speaking of which, a buddy of mine gained 19 rwhp the other day on his 224/224 cam only car adding the LS6 intake. Definately look into one. A ported TB, depeding on the quality of the porting can make up to 10 rwhp on a modified motor. There are several other free mods that have shown to make power as well.

NHRATA its a A4, and I also had custom tuning done to it. I just thought there could be a little more HP somewhere. I am getting a ported and an u/p. Yeah a friend gained 20 hp from the ls6 intake and tuning so I am aiming for that....would autotap do any good with the headers? Even if I had the PCM tuned?

Ah if its an A4 those numbers don't sound too bad. The pulley should add around 10hp for you, and the LS6 manifold another 10 or so. So you'll be pushing around 375 at the wheels with the A4. Get it to the track and I bet you'd be smoking me left and right!

I have always wondered about the comment of "See what it does at the track." As if there are not limiting factors other than horsepower dealing with the car. Track times does not always reflect your horsepower and horsepower does not always reflect your track times. You have to put it in perspective. Things like weight, gearing, horsepower/torque, temp, etc., should all be considered. My car for example had enough horsepower to run in the 11's, but I raced at weight of 3750lbs, DR's, plus I have stock 3.42's. The funny thing is that on the street I beat those same cars that run 11's at the track.. When they put all the accessories back in the car and put street tires on.. If you are building a drag car then it is track times that matter. If you are building just a strong street car and do not want to lose too much driveability then worry more about getting the most out of the engine and suspension.. Just my 2 cents..

Well hopefully I'll be in between, I want a car for drag/street...so hopefully I'll hit a good et. I went to the track yesterday HRP and it was closed ...so the suspense is killing, will have to wait another day.....
