please help!!! i think have wrong push rods or new lifter problems
hey guys,
i just put gtp stage 2 heads on my car.the car has a cam (b1) in it and all the bolt ons.the heads were milled 30thousanths. i also put new lifters in.(comp cam 875-16s)i had in the car before heads were the hardened pushrods from crane which were the same height as the stock ones. the car is making a sound like rockers at idle, but it comes and goes.the push rod im using is a 7350 and the other is a 7400. im was wondering if the pushrod i have in there is wrong and thats why its making that noise!!!please any help or suggestions would be great.
thanks

You are using 7.35's correct?
Do you know the base cirlce on the cam?
I am guessing you need to use 7.400" push rods. I do and I have heads/cam.
My heads were milled 0.030" and my base circle radius is 0.030" less on the hammer cam so I just stuck with the stock lenght. I have a quite setup.

You are running 7.350 pushrods? Sounds right to me unless the base circle is different from what I remember.

Your pushrods sound right. You probably need them a bit shorter actually. NOT longer.
Comp R's are notoriously loud. Your car should sound like a sewing machine now, esp. with the hood up.

i going crazy trying to figure this out!!!
i going crazy trying to figure this out!!!
are they fast bleed lifters? i have installed a set of comp cam's fast bleed lifters in my old truck's engine and they made a hell of a noise at idle. does the noise go away about 1500 to 2000 rpm?
