You dont need lifters, and if you choose the go with the comp springs, then id just buy the whole package from LG as it would most likley be cheaper than buying everything piece by piece.

well the car just turned 55,000 miles and a few people i talked to said they would go ahead and change the lifters just incase. the dude at comp said to go ahead to because 55,000 may not need them now but around 60,000 they probably will and he also said that with running an aftermarket cam that is kind of aggresive he said it would eat the stock lifters up.

I run my 244/248 on my stock 100,000 mile lifters. Have had 5 cams on the original set. I don't think you have to.

However, if you were swapping the heads I would do it. Other than that you are spending money you don't need to with head gaskets/bolts/possibly lifters...ect.

Just some food for thought.

No need to swap lifters if they're not having a problem and you're not removing heads.
The G5X3 is a great cam. I've seen many happy local guys with that cam, including myself. My tuner just tuned a G5X3 vette with AFR heads and it made right around 470/420.

That's where I got my LS6 oil pump and spring kit and gasket kit. I haven't heard much on these LS4 oil pumps. What's the deal on them?

I know that when we blueprinted my motor the G5X3 came out closer to spec than any cam I've ever seen. And it wouldn't surprise me if LG has strict tolerances on what variances they'll accept to put their name on. If you have the money, do it. If not, no big deal.
