Default Thinking of rev kit, anyone use one?

I'm going with heads this winter and thinking of running a rev kit to take some strain off the valve springs.I'm running a Thunder Racing 220/220 .561 lift and 114 duration Cam with 918 springs. Will this take the strain off the 918's?

Rev kit will have the effect of reducing valvetrain mass, so the answer is yes.Under 6800 it may be overkill, but it cant hurt. I have used rev kit with my solid roller SBC and they allowed use of smaller, lighter tension valve springs.Titanium retainers may help your cause also, but i dont think they make them for 918 springs.

yes i thought of using one. ARE makes one, but it will take 2-3 months to get, so i decided to go with 987 double springs.

What exactly is a rev kit? I have heard of these but never really seen one. or heard much about it to understand it.

Rev kit is a set of springs clamped between a plate held down by cylinder heads and lifters, it preloads the body of lifter against cam with out affecting hydraulic internals of lifters. They assist in valvetrain control, allowing valvesprings to concentrate on pushrods, rockers and valve.

Thanks guy's <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I think I will go for this when I do heads for a little extra insurance against valve float.
