correction, it has a stock LS1 intake - for now.....just wanted to see the improvement over the hotcam alone. Then we will dyno agian with pulleys so we can "match up" with other cars around here!

This is ground breaking stuff here folks! i cant wait Mark - THANK YOU!

Let us know how that 230 cam turns out. I don't think anyone has tried one yet with stock heads (cough 420rwhp stock heads MMS 229v2.1)

Gee how did you guess it was a 230/230 cam?

This thing drives absolutely great on the street and sure has plenty of low end grunt..hit the upper R's though and it gets it on. I think the idle is very livable considering the lobe separation.

i just want to do an HONEST evaluation on what a CAM-ONLY change will do for this type of car.

i think my car represents more of the f-bodies here than your car does. not everyone has EVERY damn bolt on to make the dyno look huge. in fact i still have full exhaust (sorry no open header dyno spikes you so love) on the STOCK INTERMEDIATE PIPE!

remember the thing to look for here is the CHANGE in power since i was already pulling 365 RWHP through my cammed mosered car. if someone wants to donate an intake, pullies, and ported TB for that extra dyno 15 RWHP come by! i will be glad bro

so those that want to see how a MAN's cam will do under not so ideal situations (reality) Raging Motorsports will show you!

blah, blah, blah....all praise to TB - the guy who finally has a college degree - now he must be smart - only two more degrees (master's and J.D) and you catch up with the 'retard' gator.

in any event TB do you honestly believe that 420 RWHP would be a "reasonable" pull on the dyno with cam only? i guess you got ripped off with your magic stage two MMS heads and monstor cam. are you saying MMS heads are only worth 15 RWHP in your combo?

i dont make excuses, i just dont like it when some people here tend to "hide" their mods (not assuming you hide anything). some forge to mention they have shortbelts, nearly all the accessories are gone, electric water pump, etc. But then average joe expects their mild setups (without the "full bolt-ons") to pull mega horsepower. now as a highly educated man (B.S degree i assume) you know that is not reasonable. i am sure you know this TB.

Hey, Mark, how about a free RAGING cam for RAGEman for some track testing in the grand ole state of Texas where all the big competition is at?

It's a great cam for guys that like to race on street tires, but it is top end biased. As an educated person you won't mind me pointing out that MMS "had the gonads" to try this out first, several months ago.

Oh, well. Dude, if you want to run good times, there's always WEIGHT REDUCTION. Every 100 lbs. you shed is generally equivalent to a .1-second ET reduction and a 1-MPH increase in trap speed. Also, get that 60' down, and run in some great (preferably Texas) air.

Holds a very steady idle..with a good lope.

Gator did have bigger hole drilled in the TB. We added a little LS1edit tuning to it also to steady things out a little more too. I think it will still idle with stock tuning..added tuning is recommended though.

I do have one of these cams on hand...just can't go giving it away though.

funny TB, one of the first things i noticed with this cam is the great STREETability. it idles great AND the midrange is VERY nice and fat. you are pretty much wrong with your statement. maybe the MMS version of it was a dead horse in the midrange but this version is really smooth in the 2500-4000 rpm range (where most of our driving is done).

now that i had a chance to drive it home, i REALLY enjoy the top end. the rev limitor is set at 6800 and it pulls to the limitor! from 5000-is amazing (so you are right in that respect TB).

as for your lame attempt at a "look at me terry buger" well, if you are trying to cut me down because you dont have the education i do, sorry.

i am finishing up law school - one more semester then i take the bar in Feb - i will practice securities compliance. but again, do not attempt to steal the spotlight from people making moves with this cam. i know i have heard it before that MMS created this cam but why has the 229 worked so well, yet the 230 fell on its face?

again, can i say i LOVE the streetability and top end power of this setup?
