Forged 346..... how much $?
Ok, I may well be looking at a new motor shortly (a lot more shortly then I would have liked ), and I might as well go forged to compliment the big bottle on the car. I don't see a 346 crate motor on any of the sponser's sites, and I don't see a rotating assembly kit like the Lunati 382. I am basically looking for as much info as possible regarding the cost of building a forged, stock displacement LS1 shortblock. Thanks!

I'm too modest for that... Besides, it's on his mainpage tp his website.

We've offered Norris the opportunity to become a sponsor, I'm sure he would get direct value from it. Only negative for me is when a shop does not sponsor any sites, makes me wonder if they will be around for warranty and service issues. (serious).
Now when you say forged bottom end keep in mind, that a forged crank kicks up the cost by a few thousand dollars...
I had a forged bottom end built a few years ago...
Big expenses will be: Pistons $800, or the machining of the block, and/or the balancing & blueprinting of the bottom end.
You will also spend like anothe few hundos on rings, bearing, gaskets, etc.
I think that folks can end up spending $2500 - 4000 on a bottom end depending on what you add to it.
I would go with someone who has a lot of LS1's out there.

Norris Motorsports is a sponsor there and has been for quite a long time. Mike also writes tech articles for a few magazines as well... He has quite a few LS1 cars out there, just because they don't post here doesn't mean they don't exist... Just my take on the matter, no need to cast blanket statements about a shop without checking facts...

Pro Stock you know we welcome your opinion.. I wish Norris would become a sponsor as well.. There is no denying the quality of his work. Mike Norris is a busy guy and I am sure one day he will spend more time on this board.. I am glad Joey came on before me to clear up the none sponsor on any boards.. I was about to correct you myself.. No biggie though.. How much does it cost to be a sponsor anyway?

Re: Forged 346..... how much $?
Matt,
Let me jump in here. I just had a forged 346 motor built by Thunder Racing. Dude it ROCKS! 11.34et @ 122mph 1st time out!
Give them a call, They are a sponser on this site. Tell them Coach told you to call.
