I knew those all aluminum truck engines were coming as far back as a year ago. My cousin told me they were coming up, he's the engine test engineer at the LS1/LS6 engine plant in St.Catherines, ON. I keep bugging him to sneak me out an LS6! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Yes, I got the Envoy 2002 inline 6 which is 270 hp and it moves quite well!!!!

I hear there is another larger cube block coming out soon for a pick-up or SUV. 4xx something. I forget the model or bore or stroke.

I believe it's an iron block. Just a rumour. I've forgotten the details cuz I wasn't personally interested. Hear about it last week from a chevy mech. Was GM of course.

There is an all alum 5.3 motor coming for the Envoy/TRailblazer EXT lines.

Hmmm....I just wish they would sneek some thicker/stronger liners in these production aluminum blocks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

A 6.0L aluminum block would be sweet but, I think the truck crowd feels better about the iron block for strength purposes.

Maybe in a year or three we'll get an aluminum production block option to the resleeved blocks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I can dream can't I. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I asked a salesman at my local Chevy house about the 2003 1500's and he said the V8's will get an aluminum block.

We just started building the seats for the 2003's last Monday. My mother works for GM. I will ask her if they have the V8's yet or it they are still all 6's.

EXT models in 2003 will have the all alum V8 from what I recall.
