You've got to be kidding me. You go through all that just to prove that you like a factory bolt?!@? Honestly I'm not trying to convince you of anything. You know what works best for you. BUT
having been there and done that I know what I like better and feel that explaining the difference between the TTY bolt and the ARP is worth explaining.
Yes you need a long cheater bar to stretch the bolt. It's not a peice of cake and there are plenty of threads with people who have struggle and never actualy stretch it all the way and say ok well thats good enough.
Save your OEM rhetoric. The ARP is a superior product and you know that, hands down(and if you dont you just wont admit it). Does the OEM work just fine? YES it does, never said it didnt. So please save your argument. I'm pointing out the differences in the two from the product to the installation. Are you saying the ARP is not as good or harder to install? No your not because you know it wouldnt be true.
I like the ARP better. Its a better bolt and easier to install. You can argue that all you want but your arguing against facts.
Would you like me to say it this way
The OEM TTY bolt works just fine, but the ARP is easier to install and is re-usable. TTY bolts need to be thrown out once stretched.
Did I have trouble installing either bolt? No not at all. I used the handle to my floor jack and a 1/2 inch breaker bar. For the arp I just used a torque wrench
DO a search (if it works) and see how many did have trouble and you will find plenty.
Now I'm not going to argue this with anyone else. Its pointless. I've stated nothing but facts. Here: the ARP is more expensive. $25 as compared to $5
I would still buy the ARP all day long over the OEM.
Now I'll unsubscribe from the thread and you can have your way with it. I dont care. I know what works good for me.
I've used both. Have you? Can you say you tried the ARP and much prefer the OEM??? and the reason being is the OEM is superior? No your only arguement is that its cheap.
