Retail on the bolt is less than $4. If we were all the same it would be a dull world. It is EZ for me to get one since I work @ a Chevy store ... I am getting ready to do the second and last cam swap on this engine so $2.77 x 2 is cost effective for me..

the thing bout the tool i keep recomending.. is its all ready to go... just put it on.. and start turning it...no running to find the rite stuff...and i already loaned it out.. and got my money back that i paid for it...so it basically paid for itself...

NO flame intended on the time spent..most on here act like putting on a crank pulley is such a big deal..I bought a long bolt a long with all the other things that I was going to need to do the cam swap before I started..so I was not searching for the right tool to do the install in the middle of it..but I have a real hardwear store 5 minutes for the house and a HD 10 minutes away..sometimes a little break is not bad when your doing a project or install...the before memtioned longer than stock crank bolt has been loaned out many times ... it is always a good idea to plan your work before you start..being organized is the best way to do it ...less mistakes happen when you do it that way..

LMAO!! I've never bought anything at the dealer and had it cost me $4.

Anyway, the ARP is stronger and is my bolt of choice. Some people really dont like TTY bolts and would prefer to use something else. I've used both and the ARP is the easiest. It cost more but you get what you pay for.

Also I didnt need a 3ft pipe on the end of my 1/2 inch breaker drive to put it on either. The ARP is a much easier install. MUCH. Thats a big difference as well. Torquing the ARP into place is an easy task. Torquing the TTY bolt is a MAJOR PIA and requires a lot of leverage.

Laugh all you want sir .. but retail on the bolt is $4 and change..if you ever need one I'll hook you up with my parts dept. ... being 60 years old I do not strain my old *** for anything ... when you get older you get smarter..so I use a cheater bar on the bolt or if my young neighbor (21 years old) is available I'll get him to do the hard part ...I understand the concept of getting what you pay for very well...since I did class racing in S/S, C/G, and T/AD for many years...but having never had any problems with OEM crank bolts on my engines and others peoples engines that I know ... I feel that the OEM bolt is a bargan for me at $2.77 + plus sales tax..I also understand the concept of spending money that does not need to be spent..the quality of GM OEM parts is highly under rated ....I have found that hype to be untrue.. I work at a dealership that has been in the top three in the nation in new Corvette sales for the past 10 years .... I probably have a better feel for what the weak links are in the LS series engines than most people do..considering how many LS powered cars that come through my award winning service department for any and all types of repairs..the internet is a hot bed of lies, half truths and inunindos..it gives people who know nothing a platform to spout their propaganda...(I'm not referring to you sir) .. as I said before if we were all the same it would be a dull world...it looks like you and I will agree to disagree..we will obviously get to the same place you will just have spent money to get there than I did .. have a nice day sir ..

Im also using the OEM bolt i bought for about 5 bucks.. If its such a bad horrible part then why is it still being used? Hm... Its not the bolt its the person installing the bolt..
