Recommendations for a Short block?
1) LS6 long block minus accessories
2) ARE 360 Stroker short block
3) MMS 347 nitrous motor short block w/ 224/224 cam
All are within a couple hundred bucks of each other and im guessing performance will be similar. Heads on the 360 or 347 will be stock for now until I get the cash for stage IIs... Benifits of the LS6 are its GM spec, and never touched internally, so I know it wont have problems... the 360 will run great N/A and the nitrous motor will handle my nitrous fetish. What are your opinions? Or am I better off just fixing the engine I have? I have talked to 2 shops and both say I will have to machine the block, change the crank and rings and possibly the pistons to make it work... What do you all think??
Anyone with experience played with any short blocks in the 3500-5K range or long blocks in the 4K-6K range that hold up pretty well?
JPR has the 382 big bore short block for 4200 available supposedly right about now. more cubes, forged pistons, etc

Is a core return required at that price, or is that using your own old stuff? I think I'm gonna have to build one up for myself.
