Do you have a price for block only with a core?

I can go over the labor charges with my machine shop and the short parts list for a sleeved 382 block and I will get back to you with the pricing.

Muscratmauler:

Try 0.785 3 9816....in the second equation (it represents pi/4).

Joe: Is there any potential gain to revising the head design with the larger bore size? IOW, larger valves, etc. I know at a certain valve diameter the flow increases become marginal....but I was just wondering if there was any research done on optimizing that. I know this is your first offering, so you haven't had too much research time.

Byron- I asked Joe the same question, and he felt his stage 2 heads are already flowing plenty for the 382. However, depending on what cam you are running, you probably would benefit from going to a larger cam.

Please dont take this the wrong way but u need to at least open the head to the 4+ bore size.

I know first hand how good Joes heads flow,I had the quickest JPR N/A H/C car.None of his newer cars have beaten my 11.36@118 yet. Most of his customers are not as hardcore as I was, they arent gonna do whats required to run low low 11's.But I'm sure someone is cooking up a JPR car (BOB2of3) thats gonna shock the world....

All I'm saying is u need the head sized for the bore,Joes porting is up to par on his S2 program and I know its up to par for his 382 stuff,Talking to Joe and Tommy made that clear......

Here is a quick update, I have 3 blocks at the machine shop in varied stages of disassembly and assembly, I did not like the rings that were first given to me for the new pistons, after some measuring, I found them to be 6-8 thousands too tight to the 4.100 bore, as alot of people know, tight rings or a total seal ring is not good for a street driven fuel injected motors, it causes tunig problems also and the dreaded oil consumption problems, they seat too fast and wear in/out about as quickly, exacting toerances is where it's at. I have remedied the problem and I will have the first motor ready by mid next week. 18-20 first ring 14-16 second ring is what I am going with.
Joe.

Shiznity,119 is nothing to sneeze at thats for sure but ANY ET's WITH THAT MPH?Whats the weight of your car and was this MPH off the T-Brake or FT-Brake?

I can tell u my old JPR setup with a brake wouldve run BOTTOM 11's.....
IMO U cant compare a BRAKED 400 with a foot stalled 4L60E,its not even close.

I believe Bear will break the time once he takes alittle weight (3500) out of his car and the good air comes to Atco. That would be a much better comparo in my mind.

Bottom line is,my OLD JPR S1/224 cammed T/A ran VERY well for a fairly mild setup.....

FWIW,I'm sure Joe's 382's will run well too.

BEAR,My caged car weighed 3552lbs with ME,on its best pass of 11.46@116 pass,The DA was hovering at -1100 that NOV night at Atco.

Joe (3387lbs) driving netted a BEST of 11.36@118 in -1500 DA's at Atco back in DEC....

FWIW BEAR,My S2X setup ran 11.19@121 in +300 DA's at 3590lbs.I've since backed that up with a 11.20@120 in +900 DA's at 3518lbs....

TTT

I am seriously thinking about purchasing this exact setup by the end of this year to the mid part of next and I wouldn't think twice about buying Joe's product. I have talked to him a few times and he really knows his ****. On top of that, he's got the #'s to back up his work. He really pays attention to detail and, unlike other sponsors, he really cares about the customer. Joe has bent over backwards for me and I am sure he wouldn't think twice about doing it for anyone else. Hes just a cool, stand up guy.

Just wanted to put this to the top once more to see where you are right now as far as parts ect.
I know you were not able to do any "physical" labor last week because of an injury.
Keep us up on these.
Later.
