Just got word back from my Machine shop that the liners that I ordered for testing installed and honed in perfectly! He is now starting the good block today. The first motor will be installed in Tommy "Talon WS6's" Trans Am for punishment and durability testing. I covered all my bases not to have any repeat problems in the past after closley studying the block. I have my fingers crossed and I will have dyno/track testing done as soon as the darn Custom pistons arrive! After the test phase, these will be available in 2 different configurations, All Bore block only, and full rotating short blocks. Thanks for the test block Bob2of3!

I am comfortable with the 4.100's at this point, I can order a 4.150 sleeve later on and do a bore/test fit on our Guinne Pig block and see how I like it. I really studied up on the 4.100 bore first.

That's GREAT news Joe! It'll be nice to have a (somewhat) local shop doing the all-bore setups. I can definitely see myself going this direction by next summer.
However....dare I ask....How much? Before you answer, let me get in the proper state of mind.....

Ok, now I'm ready <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> J/K Joe, I'm sure your prices be very competitive with the other All-bore setups. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I think the 4.100" stuff is pretty much down to a science now, from what I've been able to gather. The bigger stuff still has some growing pains from what I understand.
The engine Nick is doing for me is 4.100" also. We discussed some other options, but they weren't as attractive as the 4.1...

Wow! Nice!
Any idea what sort of cam you would want to run with that? Maybe the bigger Thunder? I would think (could be wrong?) that more cubes allows you to get away with a beefier cam, right?

Thats good news Joe, glad to see more shops that aren't scared to resleeve aluminum blocks.
Just a hint: Have your machine shop build some bolt-on fixtures to completely seal the water passages and have them pressure test the block for a suitable duration of time to ensure that there are no leaks. This is one of the quality control steps that MTI uses to test their sleeve seals now that they do the work in-house.

Good choice on the 4.10 bore. Most of the gain and the risk level seems much lower.
Damn Joe, why couldn't you have done this 6 months ago when I needed a motor. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Are you kidding me with this? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> I just get done paying off the rear, heads, cam, cage and all the other crap, and now I have to get this! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> How on earth am I going to justify this? Good Luck with everything Joe. Congrats. Keep us informed on the progress. Later Bear. PS Did you throw one of these in mine already since my car was there already just waiting to get made happy. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
