Default MTI stage 2 LS6 heads and X1 install complete!

with some help from the local NW Fbody guys and Ryan Karesek we got my MTI Stage 2 LS6 heads and X1 cam in the car this weekend along with the SLP double roller timing chain and the MTI ported oil pump. We also did the rod and main bearings at the same time.

The car is a whole new beast now! As soon as it goes over 3K its like hanging on to a guided missle. I wont be able to get it onto the dyno until the end of the month but I will post numbers once that is done. MTI did a great job with this combo and I cant wait to see what kind of numbers it puts down

Lots of work, Glad you are happy with it!

The Butt-O-meter really was pretty much maxed out. There is only one car, that I have ridden in, thats faster. And I get to ride in that one everyday.

An independant shop said they flowed 303 or 308. I cant remember. But no 2 flow benches are identical. I think it was a 1250 core charge and then 3990 for a final pay.

MTI set the idle at 950-1000 I believe. I will be resetting it at about 750 or 850 to give it the chop I was looking for.

There were a number of things I wished I could have done while the motor was out of the car but didnt have the time to get the parts together. We used bolts and not the studs. I wish I would have gone with the studs though. A list of things you might want to do while the motor is out:
poly engine mounts
Clutch if an M6
head studs

There were a few others that I cant think of right off hand. But I highly recommend pulling the motor. It helps SOOOOOO much when it comes to torquing everything down.

Congrats! Can't wait to see the numbers (dyno/track)

Did you pull the motor from the top or drop from the bottom?

Good luck.

It was toast when we pulled the motor out of the car and now with the new cam and heads I dont see it lasting very long at all!

The motor came out through the top. It was actually alot easier than I had thought it was going to be.

Dyno day is set for the end of the month. Cant wait to see what it puts down. I am hoping to be in the 420-450 range. Took it out lasst night and really played hard on it. Its still hunting for traction in 3rd gear @ 5 grand doing 100mph

Go with MTI's S2 heads, and get their X1 cam...
