Default PROJECT FMS 346 street solid roller dyno #'s

Well, finally got to dyno tune my ride's new setup after Gordon( GTS-SS )rolled out his 461

Tuned her out to corrected 453 HP\ 385 TQ,with a peak at 6600 and held 448-446 to 7400 limiter.

This was with 12 bolt with 4.56's\spool and same 22lb chromemoly driveshaft as Gordon!!! open cutout and 103 VP\93 mix. Will post graph soon.

FMS\Meaux stage 2 LS6 2.055"\1.60"
FMS street solid roller 233\233 .629\.629 112 l\s
12.0 CR Forged pistons\rods
Custom T&D 1.9 Rockers to increase lift to .705"

Old combo on stock bottom was good for 416\395 and ran 11.35@122.5 at 3500 lbs.Stage 1 LS1 heads,street solid roller 224\228 .580"\.580" 114 l\s,10.8 CR,12 bolt with 4.30's,26" slicks.

Only runs on the new setup before tuning has been 11.42 @ 125.45 at 3475 lbs on drag radial's with previous 4.30 gears, stepped up to the 4.56\28.5 slicks and 3390 raceweight

Last pull was cutout closed and through the 3.5" Mufflex exhaust, made 440 hp.Also this setup is a blast to drive and VERY docile!

Thanks to Geoff@Thunder for the dyno time and Jason for being the manual cutout operator

Nice numbers! That power has some heavy duty stuff to go thru to get to the back tires.

I'm just curious. Any particular reason for going with a 1.9 rocker instead of just getting the cam ground to a certain lift. How big a cam(lift) can you fit in a LS1?

By Very docile what type of idle do you mean? If you can get away with that big of a solid cam(compared to the same spec. hydraulic) in a 346 than what solid cam do you think would have similiar characteristics in a 422.

Thanks

John

John, had this lobe designed to work in an LS1 with 1.7 rockers,be aggresive without beating the valvetrain. Just went with 1.9 rockers for the lift to work with the LS6 heads .

This cam would be equal to a 226-228 hydraulic cam for driveabilty and idle.Solid cams have to be 6 degress bigger at .050" to equal a hydraulic cams total seat timing( .006").

Take Tony's motor,248 @.050"hydraulic.A solid cam would need to be around 254 @.050" to have the same seat timing.

The cam should be in by next weekend. I have to come up there to get a test ride in one of those solid roller cars.. They sound like a blast to drive..

Very nice. What kind of maintenance is involved with this kind of solid roller setup?

Alan took me for a ride in that beast when he had the 4.30 gears and that thing is bad ***. When he first cranked it, it sounds awsome but no Idle surge just a nice lope. Congrats on the #'s Alan and I look forward to another ride with the 4.56's Chad

Now this sounds exactly how I want to setup my motor!

Can you give me an idea of how much it would cost to have a solid roller 346 built?

Congrats Allan! It dynoed a little better than you expected. LOL

10s will be in easy once you get the 28" slicks on the car.
