Default T-Rex or MS4

I have been thinking about this for awhile, I have the MS3 in my auto WS6 and I love it, I have the 228R in my M6 WS6, I want to know what ya'll think is better for my M6, T-Rex or MS4, I have a 12-bolt w/3.73 gears, but I am replacing it w/ a 9" w/ 4.10 gears, car has LS6 stage 3 heads, full-bolt-ons, and forged 346 and 228R for now. What kind of power increase should I see with either of these cams, what would be my estimated HP of both be. Sorry for all the questions I just have been wandering for awhile, which one would net me the best time in the 1/4. And would I have to flycut. I tried doing a search but it has been down for me all night

Forget about the Rex....I would go for the MS4 if I had to pick between the 2. It makes the big power with tq right behind it. The TRex seems to be more top end power, and have lower tq than you are wanting. However, I would suggest a custom grind over any off the shelf cam and a custom dyno tune to go with it. I would think that maybe a variation of the MS4 would be more to your liking. You will have to flycut depending on your heads. Need more info than just stage III LS6.

Now with the questions:

Are you running a reliefs in the pistons? What is the CC of those LS6 heads you have? Are they milled at all? Just valves? What valve size? What are you wanting to accomplish for this car? 450? 460? 475? Why do you wanna chew up all your extra power with the 9" rear?

and.....
Can I have your 12 bolt?

I also added another category to your poll.

pistons are flat-top, heads are not milled, stock height, vavles are 2.08/1.60/64cc, am hoping for 475+, some of my buddies said the 9" is a stronger rear and can take more abuse since I have a M6. For the custom grind, what would be a good cam for max HP and TQ, but fit under stock height heads without flycutting?

That will be determined only with measuring. You want to have atleast like .040 clearance.

12-bolt is already spoken for if I sell it, I might put it in my auto WS6 since it has 3.73's, and the 9" has 4.10 help me out alot since I am a m6, plus it can take more abuse.

9" rears are nice, but it takes to much power to turn them.

Someone needs to buy that cam and send it to get a check-up from the cam doctor.

lol. the first time i experienced the rex was when i first went out for a ride after my buddy was done installing it a few months back. we were stuck in traffic and he looked to the left to see if the lane was clear. well it wasn't so he just nailed it in first and the tires gripped silly and before i could even realize that i was still alive i was one with the seat. man i haven't felt that kind of torque off idle since the poltergeist rollercoaster at six flags fiesta texas!

****. i can only imagine what it feels like off the line in like, say a kenne bell ls1. didn't that thing make like 800 lbs of torque off idle in a vette?

You wouldn't have all that lowend power you are describing with a Trex. It is a top end cam. That car would have to have 4.30's+ to even be that nimble from a dead stop unless he power braked out of the hole at like 3.5k.

you should put the 12 bolt back in, 9 inch is only stronger when its spooled, otherwise the 12 is stronger

Who told you that? It is a bigger ring and a butch pinion. 9" would be the stronger, spooled or not.
