Pushrod size
What size pushrod should i use on a stock 2002 camaro with a tr 224 cam . I was thinking maybe like a 7420 to maybe quite down valve train . Would that work or am i off base here?

Is there an easy way to determine the base circle? I have an idea of what cam I'm running. But, the car came this way. So, I don't have the actual cam card. I only know it's a CompCams 232/238 .595/.605 XE-R 112LSA cam. I too would like to know appropriate PR size if there's an easy way to compute...

new pushrod length = ((stock cam base circle-new cam base circle)/2) + stock pushrod length - amount heads are milled - difference between new head gasket and old head gasket.
Stock base is 1.553, stock pushrods are about 7.39, stock head gasket is about .052
To measure base circle get a dial caliper and put it on the cam lobe and turn the lobe until the dial reads its lowest point, that low point is your base.

I added that to the length of my stock pushrods so 7.396 + .043 =7.439. I went with 7.425 because the next size up was 7.450 and didn't know if it would hurt to go over the factory preload. So anyway is this how you figure it?
