Default Running lean in high rpms...Possible pinging?

Just got my dyno done this morning and this afternoon my GMS 85mm MAF arrived.

Now my question is this I am pretty sure it leaned it out a little more up top, The noise that I've been hearing that I thought was my tranny is now I'm thinking actually a little pinging in High RPMS, happens from about 5k+ just before shift, used to hear 3-4 little clicking sounds, sounds like someone has a bag of marbles in the car making noise right? well now with the GMS it's like 7-8 but only under WOT

I know this can be bad but is it bad enough? I only need to get by until I do heads and cam in a few weeks and then i'll have it tuned. should I buy a MAFT anyways? or should I take off my S2 TB and the GMS until I get it tuned. I put 2 and 2 together and just today realized the sound started shortly after my S2 was installed.

Thanks in advance.

Holy Sh.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Did I read that right? Your a/f looked as though it was above 14 the entire time with it starting out at 16?

If so, that is pretty dern lean. Driving around at part-throttle isn't going to hurt you.... unless you are setting and SES light for lean. Are you setting any SES codes?
I would just avoid the WOT until you get a fix for your lean condition.

No SES light yet. Would WOT cause permanent damage? I know over time it could but I ask because I've had a couple of WOT instances 3 as a matter of fact to test my theory.

But that's only today after I installed the GMS, I've been driving around a couple of months with it like this.

I guess when Heads and Cam go in I should throw in a new set of spark plugs.

I just thought of something this morning, about 4 weeks after I got my S2 I did throw a code. I don't remember what number it was but I remember it was listed as "Bank 2 Switched Lean" I remember thinking to myself wtf? Bad Gas? I cleared the code and have not seen it since.

If I pull the neg for 5 mins it'll force a re-learn right? Should I do this? Also I should add that since a week after my S2 was installed every morning when I start up the vehicle it surges for about a minute till it idles right, but when it's surging it just bounces between 500-900 rpm, and sometimes gets as high as 1100.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd put your stock MAF back in with the screened ends. That should bring you down to at least 13.0:1 or so....

Ataped my car and I had about 5 codes about the system being lean, 1 code referring to O2 sensor 1 bank 1 switching wrong, and also had a misfire code. Drove around with atap on and NOTHING was wrong, car was even running a little rich, cleared the code drove around for about 30 miles and nothing came back up.

Only things I can think is maybe the during the day today with the hot air it was making pinging happen? IAT temp was 88F

I know It's about time to change my TR55's they have around 13k on them. Are there any drawbacks to using the TR6's on a N/A car?

I had no KR at WOT and O2's were running like .930/.935

Anyone have any ideas?
