If you had 700 H/P NA at the flywheel what?
If you dynoed 700 Horse Power NA at the flywheel, what would that equate to at the wheels going through a 4400 Yank converter, turbo 350 tranny, steel drive shaft, Ford 9" with 430 gears and a spool, 28" tires.
Locked up ???
Not locked up ???
Just wondering.
thanks

Damn, 700fwhp N/A only equates to 10's?

A Prize? You bet buddy. How about a few passes in the new MONSTER. How would that be? 2nd prize is one of those New York big buck drinks.

Re: If you had 700 H/P NA at the flywheel what?
440 converter = 96% efficiency unlocked - loss of 4%
turbo 350 - auto, but a decent one. Loss of 10%
9" with 4.30s - loss of 3% with 9", 1% gears. Total 4%
steel driveshaft - maybe 1/2 % if even that
Total loss is 4+10+3+1+0.5 = 18.5%
0.815 * 700 = 570-571 RWHP
In reduced weight car, easy 9s.

The bore at this point is undecided. The crank is undecided. The cam will be BIG but no specs yet other than it will be a solid roller.
The final HP lies upon my decision on what compression ratio to go with.
I still have an LS6 intake. To achieve this power level I may need a sheet metal intake. Can't afford one of those right now.
I'm not saying it will be 700 FWHP right out of the shoot. It will take a little more $$$$ mods to achieve it. If it is possible at all. We will see. We are just talking right now. The engine should be started soon and that depends on how I decide to proceed.
That's all I can say right now other than the rotating assembly will be strictly N/A.
When the time comes I will post more info but I truely don't know right now.

Re: If you had 700 H/P NA at the flywheel what?
Sounds good Tom! Right now I'm having fun driving around the 396 with the little 229 cam, but I'd like to throw a 250-duration size solid roller in there soon. Why don't you do a 4.125" bore, 4" stroke, 13.5:1 cr, LS6 heads, and 250ish duration solid roller setup? I bet you should get 520rwhp with your lou'se goosey tranny.

sounds like we are going to have fun at keystone this spring! I just went with LS6 heads and head studs on my 422, should be done in 5-6 weeks
