I know flow number are just flow numbers but I think it's generally accepted a bigger bore helps.

JMX-
I agree, I'll have to post some results in a few weeks once they are installed.
99 Blackbird T/A-
I don't disagree that the TEA, GTP and MTI heads all make good power. However, both the GTP and MTI heads seem overpriced. The 5.3 TEA's are probably the best bang for the buck. The CNC LS6's are priced close to the TEA's and are also a good bang for the buck. For some reason there is something very appealing to me in getting a brand new set of LS6 heads and running a stock compression ratio for about the same price as the TEA's (if you consider the core charge). I haven't seen any dyno results with the CNC LS6's and a healthy cam. I guess I'll be the guinea

Re: CNC LS6 or Stage II LS1 Heads?
We're putting together an f-body right now with our 228/228 cam on a 111 LSA and the CNC LS6 heads. I may end up trying a set out as well. However, I may shave them quite a bit and fly-cut my pistons. I'd like to have around 11:1 compression or so. The car should be back together by this weekend, and hopefully the owner will put it on a dyno when he gets it back to Austin.
I agree that flow #'s aren't everything, but the bang-for-the-buck from the CNC LS6 heads is nice! I think they're going to perform much better than people expect. I've seen two sets of LS1 heads flowed on a 600 flow bench and then flowed on the 1030 that these LS6 heads were flowed on. The first set of heads flowed 19 CFM lower than on the 600 bench, and the second set flowed 20 CFM lower.
We'll get info up on the heads as we get it. I think the dyno and track #'s are going to be nice, but there's only one way to find out.

Re: CNC LS6 or Stage II LS1 Heads?
I am anxious to hear your rsults. I have been thinking about the CNC heads and the World cup cam. The thing to remeber is that the CNC heads make really good numbers on the mid lift. That is where the power is. In the comparison of raw flow numbers, the CNC heads were ahead of many of the other heads in mid lift. Now, those number were not obtained on the smae bench, so they can't really be called apples to apples. But the stage II GTP heads did outflow the CNC heads.
Just keep in mind the ASA and the world cup cam were both engineered by GM. Who has tons of time and money to find an optimal combo.
But, as an FYI. Two members of the Z06vette site have done fastech F1 cams on stock z06 heads. Here are their numbers.
TAMUZ06
I did 370/363 with a stock motor.
I added:
Cam
SVO 30# injectors
ASP crank pulley
LS1 Edit tuning - Did 420/385
Added:
Corsa Ti exhaust - Did 431/398
kumar75150
411rwhp and 386rwtq
The car is not tuned yet and was running rich. Tuned numbers should be coming next weekend. I am hoping to pick up another 10hp.
Here is my list of mods:
TPIS longtube headers w/o cats
Magnaflow X-Pipe
Vortex Rammer CAI
Borla Stinger Exhaust
Fastech F1 Cam
So, with a set of CNC heads, who knows maybe another 10 - 20 HP. My understanding is that those heads were worth 28HP over the stock heads on the Z06. I.E. My car dynos 358, so I could expect around 386...
