Default stock 6.0 block and GM CNC LS6 heads, what cr?

What would be compression be with a stock 6.0 shortblock, and the CNC ported LS6 heads from GM.

And would it matter which 6.0 i used to get this compression.

Thanks.

Ryan.

Well the LQ4 (Chevy/GMC) is like 9.4/9.5:1 compression, and the LQ9 (Caddy) is 10.0:1. But w/ those ported heads, im not sure what the compression would be...you could get whatever compression pistons you want tho, i bet from some place

compression should be 10.8 to 1 or slightly more with stock LQ9 pistons

Any idea what it would be on a .03 bored 6.0L=408 with LS1 heads milled 30/1000ths?

umm.

Thats a little more than i was looking for would like to stay close to stock, and these 2 parts looked like they might have worked good together, and fairly cost effective.

I know i could build a motor for whatever i wanted, and may do that many years down the line. But can't afford to at that time.

But is 10.8:1 alright for a daily driver? or a little too high, Florida, its hot, and 93 octane.

Ryan.

10.8:1 is a fine CR for the street. just dont be using that plus 89 octane. ;D 93 or better and you'll be fine. aside from that w/ the bigger bore you should be able to put down some really good numbers with that setup. happy rodding,

A standard 6 liter block has dished pistons and is a 9.4:1 compression. The LS6 head will be about 6 cc less than the stock heads. I didn't calculate it out, but it wont be anything near 10.8:1, probably more like 10.2:1, unless the LS6 heads have been milled. I didn't take the time to calculate it, someone will and give you an exact number.

unfortunately, the only way the heads come CNC ported, and with valves is milled

you can buy a bare set, and add the valves..ect. but the 02 LS6 valves are a pretty penny when buying parts piece by piece.
