Hi, I guess Geoff is busy so I will try to help. I just bought a used TR224 and I was talking to Geoff and Jason about the base circle on this cam and they said it is .030 of an inch less than a stock cam. Which means to me I can mill my heads the same amount and use stock length push rods with no problems. I hope this helps. Jimmy

Geoff just told me that their cams have a base circle 0.030 smaller than stock. If this is the case then why do they send stock length p-rods with their cam only kits (assuming stock heads). Wouldn't we need 7.430" (0.030 larger than stock) to compensate for this decrease in base circle?

No because a stock pushrod is about 7.370".
Do the math......

I thought stock length was 7.400"? If not, what is the stock length?
If the stock rod is 7.370" is correct than the 7.400" is perfect. Just need a confirmation on the stock length.

Ok, just measure a stock p-rod with a tape measure (my caliper only goes to 6"). I got 7 3/8" = 7.375"
Sweet.

I always thought that the stock pushrods were 7.400" Is that correct? I have a quick question... I'm installing a set of 5.3L heads milled 10 thousandths and the TR224 112 cam, I am using TR 7.400" pushrods, are these the correct lengh for my heads/cam?? If the TR cams have a base circle of .030" and my heads are milled .010", ideally I would need a 7.380" pushrod. Is there a certain tolerance in pushrods that is safe to use? Thanks for the help in advance. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
