Default WS6 have more torque then SS out of factory

Why do WS6 T/As have 10 more pounds of torque then Camaro SSs out of the factory, what difference is there between the cars?

I never thought it had more torque, But I know that the WS6 ram air system is better designed than the ram air system on the SS, Thats the only advantage ive ever heard of for the WS6..

Ok, my bad I just checked each site and both do have 350 lbs. But on the other hand the majority of the tests I have seen the WS6 comes out quicker. Why is this?

As said with the ram air, The WS6 ram air system is directly into the engine, while the SS does not. I had a mag. article that explained it pretty well, im sure someone here can explain it.. But other than that, there is nothing else to my knowledge.

I believe hp/tq numbers depend on how strong your LS1 came from GM (camaro or firebird), and track times depend on driver/track conditions.

Even though I did outrun the only LS1 Camaro I raced..... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

The only real hp differences can be attributed to a taller airbox opening and more funtional ram air. Those will make 0 difference on a dyno as you aren't moving.

Hope that helps.

With my 98 Z28 M6 , I ran a 13.1@107 stock (except k&n) 60ft. 2.0. with all season tires!
I thought it was funny.
