anyone making 450 RWHP or so with this cam, a set of heads ( if so, what heads) and a tune?

My goal i sthis for a DD, supporting mods and a Torquer v3.

since someone I talked to from Texas speed said this is a good cam for a DD and somewhere close to 450 RWHP. I was going with one of their head and cam packages

probably the 5.3 stage 2.5 heads.

yes.. I have the torquer 2 cam only with supporting mods and I dynoed 400rwhp... pretty sure you can hit 450rwhp with good heads, a tune, and a torquer 3.

if u talked to TSP they said u could do it why u are asking people on here and calling names ?

like who is making that kind of power with a 12 bolt and 3.73s and what kind of drivetrain they have. etc.

I didnt call anyone specifically a name, I said that because the responses are either unhelpful ( like this one) or I dont get much. That is all.

or I get responses like the one in this thread that says he made 400 RWHP but that is with no heads. I want someone with the exact came combo Im saying or similar to chime in and see what I can do.

I have a thread on the torquer 3 and its not getting too much love either i dont think many users have this cam. But i know the user prin has this heads cam combo. He made a thread on it, i believe they were the 5.3 ported heads too.

 

what is user prin?

 

"PRIN" is the guys user name.

You ever stop to think that the reason your not getting any responses is because no one has "the exact same combo I'm saying or similar" you're asking about.

I have a novel idea....buy the parts you are asking about to get you that magic "450 horsepower" and then you tell US.

Hey! Somebody call? I did the v3 with the stage 2.5 5.3L heads and stock push rod length. I made 406/378. BUT, that was were we stopped. I had a little detonation going on and, therefore, I needed a colder plug. I went to the tr6 and we will see just how much I really can get. I need better injectors also. Mine are maxed out.

So with that said, I will be getting better injectors. I have a stock pulley and an ls6 intake. I will be chaging them later! Then, I should be in the 430-450 range.

Do a seach for my name and find the vid that I posted. You can hear it and it is mean!

 

Im kind of disappointed with those numbers though. I mean Im gonna keep my LS6 intake but with the pulley, based on what you are saying I should only make 425 RWHP, actually even less, since I now will have a 12 bolt in it.

 

Thats why I asked who has a torquer v3 andf what heads are they running. I didnt specifically say the 5.3 heads, but that should make the most powewr based on the 3 options available from TSP, since its the head that will make the highest CR, compared to the other 2.

 

Thats true man. But, I alos have a 150,000 mile motor too. I was only wanting to get 400-450. I have gotten that on a detuned motor.

 

well my goal is more drag times than horsepower. I currentlu run a 12.8 1/4 and can do a 12.4 based on my best 1/8. that is with 370 or so at the crank. m6 and 3.42s with Nitto 555rs. launching @ 3500 RPM with a best of 1.90 60' with my 8.07 @ 89.25 mph pass ( which should be a 12.4) the 12.8 1/4 was with a lousy 2.0 60' and 8.3 1/8.

anyways. I just wanna hit low 11s with teh head and cam package and my moser 3.73s 12 bolt. or maybe 10.99!!

 

i ahve the t3 with the prc 243 heads and i made 418 whp and 400lbs at 4600rpm. this combo pulls real hard from every rpm. I am very pleased with it. Also i was running a flowmaster exhaust when i got tuned but i have now switched to the lm1 and it feels even stronger. I hope this helps!

 

And what other mods do you have?

 

why straddle your self with the 3:73? most head cam packages will work best (at the track) with 4.10's.

 

i have lts ory and a lid and a ls6 intake. I still have the stock pulley and tb so there is still some room to go.

 

niiice....i'm using a T2 cam also, 400hp w/o heads is what i'm hoping for on a safe A/F ratio
