Tick Tick
My trans-am recently had head&cam installed so everything is new. Now when I start it and let it warm up it slow starts to develop a ticking sound. Not quite sure if its an exhaust leak or a loose rocker arm. Anyone that has had the same issue please respond, any help will be greatly appreciated. The only time the car has been ran hard is the day it was dyno'd. Nothing but normal street driving. Any info would be a great help!!! Thanks.

Yes. They are LS7 lifters, 7.4 chromemoly pushrods, Patriot Gold Extremes, everything is brand new. So I dont really know what it could be.

I have somewhat the same problem. Ticking noise since the H/C. Ls7 lifter, everthing new.
I redid the oil pump seal and oil pressure is higher (60-70 PSI cold and 45-55 PSI hot). SOme ticking is gone but some is still there. I got a pushrod checker and the unloaded lenght ended up beeing 7.300". I have 7.400" pushrod. I ordered a set of 7.350" pushrod. I'm still waiting for them. Maybe it will help. Last resort is maybe the Injectors.

You replaced the oil pump pickup O ring with a new blue one?
I have the same symptoms, and just did h/c and ls7 lifters, but I re-used the stock o ring... from what I read, it lets small amounts of air in the oil when it warms up, and causes the tick.. This is just what Ive been told so im going to try that next, to see if it solves it..

Just went through the same thing. Didn't replace the stock o-ring cause it looked ok. NOT!!!!! Oil pressure was 50 at warm idle and would slowly drop to 25-30 at warm idle not to mention the ticking. Replaced it with the blue o-ring, 60 at startup and 40 at warm idle. Still have a bit of ticking but nothing like before. I will be tracking down the rest of my ticking this weekend!!!!

Same, heads//cam, ls7 lifters, I still get a tick about 200 miles. I re-replaced my pickup o-ring, 20 psi at idle when the car is burning hot, but 40 psi when driving. Oh well, I'm gonna keep drivin it till she pops.

I still have a bit of ticking, that comes and goes, but I think it is from those crappy u bolt clamps that came with the exhaust. I will be ordering band clamps to take care of that problem.
