Verified zero deck.. .040 head gaskets?
As the title says, I am at zero deck, and I am wanting to run cometic .040 head gaskets, because I am going to run a 200 or a 250 shot of N2O through it. This way I have less of a chance to blow the gasket, and it should keep my CR around 11.4.
My question is, should I be ok running that thin of a gasket with zero deck? I believe I have read that the quench of a .040 is .030.. am I correct on this? I am concerned about the rods stretching at over 6k, but how much would forged H-beam Scat connecting rods stretch? I don't need the piston hitting the head.

Quench is the distance betwene the piston @TDC and the head. If your deck heigth is 0 you quench with an .040 gasket is .040.
Most people on here have pistons that are .010 out of the hole, so with an .040 gasket, your quench is .030.

It has a lot more to do with than just your deck/gasket combo. A lot plays into piston to valve clearance such as cam specs, valvetrain, gaskets, deck, valve size, and head chamber design/size.

Well.. I believe (hope) I will be fine. I am running Dart heads 2.02 1.60 valves with 59cc chambers. The cam is not large, the F-14 598/598 232/234 112 LSA. The pistons are diamonds with -2cc valve reliefs.
