did you happen to run a fifle cleaner down the center of th ecam? I do and I ALWAYS find crap in there from the machining process. if the last pic is where its at, might want to pull it back out and do that just in case. I got one cam that was nasty inside. but the rest is very little dirt/debris but its better to be safe then sorry.
good luck man. looks like your doin fine otherwise.

I've never seen that dowel method before, that's really cool and simple!

yeah, I acutally used a can of brake cleaner, then used a coat hanger cut and straightend, with a pice of papertowel in the end of it like a rifle cleaner. used to clean the long barrel of a rifle. ran that through and sprayed a bit through after that. long as you atleast looked in there. some people have no idea to do that and "could" have a bunch of junk in there if it wasnt cleaned from the mill.

weren't you worried the paper would get stuck in there?

what method are you using to keep your valves up?

the air hose method or are you going to turn your crank until the piston is TDC to whatever valve springs you're working on?

Im still sort of debating which one to use to tell the truth. I believe im going to use the TDC method it seems like the safest way. I dont have the right sized air fitting to screw into my spark plug holes so ya probably the TDC method. And as far as a valve spring compressor goes i dont have one yet im trying to hunt one down..

I used tdc, it was easy as hell. i wouldnt do it any other way. held the valve with a magnet and moved it up and down just to make sure i was at tdc.

Looks like everythings going well, pics like that makes it look like you can do everything in about 2 hours, lol
