Worth it to get 30lb SVO's on a heads/cam car?
I'm not running lean, and I really don't need them (yet), but a buddy of mine is selling his for really cheap, and was wondering if I should consider upgrading over my stock 28.8 injectors? Mine have about 35K miles on them.
The guy who has them ran them for 6 months on his LT1 and needed them since he sprayed a decent amount of n2o semi-frequently.
I'm adding Yella Terra rockers in a few days so my car should be making around 445rwhp/405rwtq I surmise.

I had maxed out my 99 injectors bad at 430+ RWHP
It was bad enough that the car laid over hard after 6600 rpm going down track

I had stock 98 injectors with my 382 (455 rwhp, 440 ft-lbs) and had no problems. Your 2001 should be the same size. I didn't need SVO 30s until the 434ci went in (525 rwhp 519 ft-lbs).
Buy them and just hold onto them, you won't gain anything by swapping them out now.

I here that if you have injectors that are too big, you decrease the resolution to which your PCM can control the fuel injected. As the SVO's are rated at a much lower pressure, they are actually equivalent to 46lb injectors on the LS1. I decided to stay with 28.8 in the end as I'm only expecting 400-420rwhp.

hmm and I was thinking the stock injectors were only good until around 450 hp, I was also considering getting the 30lb injectors but now I'll wait until I at least get a tune so I can know for sure.

I stayed w/my 99' 26lb injectors on my H/C package...I actually went and put 30lbers in and Jayson had so much trouble tuning them cause of the 340walbro that the entire back end of my car was covered in soot and lil wet spots...I swapped back to my 26lbers..picked up 10rwhp in the process...god the 30's made the car PIG FAT.

Change them. Period. Why gamble with wash down. Larger injectors can cause idle issues... but not 30lb SVO's. I beleive this upgrade to be a minor key to stability. There is a reason many of the sponsering tuners quietly recommend that upgrade with their cam/head packages.
