Default Which TSP Head/Cam Combo for midrange

I'm looking to throw a heads/cam package on my 98z M6. I will be adding a Fast 90/90 setup and was looking at Texas Speeds PRC stg 1.0 LS6 heads and cam package. As I understand I will not have to flycut the pistons with these heads (but I will with the 5.3's ?) They give quite a few options for a cam (http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=680&catid=47)

The car will be 95% street use, so I really need good driveability. So what cam should I go with in order to see good mid-range power, driveability, and rwhp > 425? Or if you have any other suggestions for a head/cam package that meets my requirements feel free to throw them out.

Thanks for looking

Personally I like the LS6 heads better, I say bet them and istall with a .040 gasket and enjoy 11:1 CR. For your needs I say get the 228 or at the biggest the V2 torquer. Many have both and again, personal preferance. Get either on a 112 LSA and find a good tuner. You will easily reach your goal with a A4 and overly exceed with a M6. 420rwhp no prob, especially with a fast 90/90. While you are at it, get it ported for another 10 ponies to the ground.

With the setup I got, you'll put 445-465rwhp. MS3 (237/242 .603/.609" 112 LSA, Fast 90/90 (ptm tb), Fast 36lb Fuel Injectors, PRC stage 2.5 5.3l head Dual springs,

I love my 5.3 heads & 224 combo. It's running very hard right now even without a tune.

The Terminators or 5.3l heads will have the smaller runners for extra mid-range power. Either of those cylinder heads should work really well for you.

This is not what I was told by Jason at TSP. Intake valve clearance on a set of 2.5 5.3's should be about the same as the stg 1 LS6's, ex clearanance should be better. I would like to give you a recommendation, but since i have not even started working on mine yet, I can not.

So you won't have to flycut the pistons with the 5.3's? I have read a few posts where people have had to do this. Maybe they were running a different set up. So I can go with the 5.3's for extra midrange power due to the smaller runners? What is the advantage of the LS6 vs the 5.3 if any? Sorry for my ignorance on this subject.

Thanks

You don't have to flycut with the 5.3s. (For most of TSPs cams) I have the stage 2.5 and the Torquer V3 (231/234 .644/.595 on a 111) and have no problems at all. Bolt it on and in and go.... Fast.

Great cam. Honestly, it starts pulling a *few* hundred RPMs later than I would like it, but when it starts to pull, HOLY SMACK. It's like chaos unleashed.

As for the numbers, I think a less restrictive exhaust (lose cats) would have helped my numbers. Thanks for the compliments.

Installed dot to dot and should have had 1 degree ground in. Advertised 111 +1. Just off the shelf grind from TSP.

When does it start "pulling"? Do you have a dyno graph? One of these days I will be running a very similar combo except with a slightly smaller intake lobe
(227 .640) and narrower lobe seperation and slightly more advance (110LSA +2).

Starts pulling in the 3500 range. By about 4500-4600 its full pull all the way till I shift at 6500. I love it. Dyno graph and vids. --> https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/799450-dyno-results-prc-5-3l-stg-2-5-torquer-v3-ported-fast-90-a.html
