LS1 Supercharged 383
Looking to do a huge overhaul on my engine over winter. Right now my set up is as follows.
Stock lower end. Custom Ground comp cam 228/236@0.50 575/590 112lsa
85mm slp mass, ported polisher throttle, accel 30# injectors, patriot 1.7 adj shaft mounted rockers, double rollers timing chain, comp magnum lifters, chromemoly pushrods, stage 3 ported polished factory heads with 600 lift springs comp tit. retainers and manley racemaster valves in 2.020 ex 1.575, hooker long tubes.
Want to either install a 383 stroker kit, or buy a short block. And also looking to install a roots type blower/supercharger.
In looking for a realiable set up, but realy dont want to trash all the uppers i already have, cause its looking like some money so i want to try to and keep some of what i have.
Any Ideas.

I've heard some very well-known people on here say to go 370 for FI, not 383. I know nothing about anything, though. Something about better bore to stroke ratio for boost or whatever.
Funny thing is, the 373 Eagle kit can be had from eBay for like, nothing as far as stroker kits go.

Again, I'm just regergitating info with a warning that I know nothing. I can only dream of FI until I somehow get another job where I make real money. Like, counterfitting.
The kit i spoke of, which has been discontinued and that's why its so cheap, is an old LS1 stroker kit. It comes with a crank. I just was throwing it out there without thinking that it might not work the same as the magic 370 I hear about on here. Sorry, forget i mentioned it.

EPP said a 346 would be fine to supercharge. In fact they do more 346 procharged build than anything else I believe. 9.5 is what ive been told is the magic number so that you still have low end grunt to get the supercharger spinning. Im in the beginning stages of my build.

you can get away withyour factory crank if you dont want mor than 7-800rwhp. but your cam is gonna have to go.

I wouldn't imagine you would be able to fit that big of a roots blower on top an an LS1 in an fbody. Look into the work people have to do to get them to fit. The D1 procharger has been a proven blower for the LS1 for quite some time now. It will make big numbers with a forged motor.
