color code for valve springs/ls1 vs ls6
when i scored my ls6 it was partial dis assembled.
springs and valves removed from heads....i want to make sure they belong to the heads. I noticed the springs are painted, and heard that they were so they went into the correct engine...any info? How do i make sure they are the ls6 valves? I heard they have diff lengths. True? since the cam is missing i want to make sure they didn,t swap valvetrane parts also....T.I.A.

LS6 valve springs form 01 should be blue in color and from 02 should be wither solid yellow or have s yellow paint stripe on them. The LS6 springs will have an oval wire compared to the standard round wire from the LS1 spring.
The valves have painted dots on their face,of course that may be hard to spot if carbon built up.
Is there a difference between the 01 and 02 LS6 springs, other than the color? What lift are they good for?

I have a pair of ls6 springs staring me in the face, they have a light coating of yellow paint on them. It definitely cannot be mistaken for another color, they are yellow!
