I went with the Crower 6.125" rods from Scoggin-Dickey. Very nice, and only $435.

I used the Scat rods in my build. They have the 15* LS-1 offset. They also use ARP bolts, but I'm not sure which ones. They run about $420-$450 and will handle the power your looking at.

I have a set of Manley lightweight, they are awesome and light. No problems with engine assembly. Crower makes a good rod also, sounds good for the price of $435.
Before you buy, check the weight.

I got some Lunati Pro-Billet 6.125 rods that are up for sale. Some of the best you can buy and will really handle some serious hp. But if you're just looking for a budget set they are probably out of your price range. Eagle, Crower, Scat, and Manley are all good for the range of HP you're shooting for.

We have Carillo I-beam 6.100 rods in stock ($206.33 ea). Katech rod bolts ($153.60/set) are FAR stronger than ARP.

Are these SBC rods w/o the LSx offset?

Do you have any data to backup your claims on the rod bolts? How are they with stress corrosion?

They are Gen 3/4 rods. I believe we are the exclusive distributor of these rods because you need to buy them in sets of 10 (80 rods). Not many companies want to buy $16,000 in rods at one time. As for the rod bolts, I'm still looking for the data.

You might also consider the Scat rods! We have them in stock with the standard arp rod bolts & the ARP 2000 Bolt upgrades!! For the $$ they're pretty hard to beat

Here is what we have on the shelf. Alot to choose from, so it realy depends on what you are looking for.

*Crower I beam 6.125 with ARP rod bolts ...good to 600 hp $489.95
*Scat I beam 6.125 with ARP rod bolts .......good to 650 hp $279.95
*Scat H beam 6.125 with ARP rod bolts.......good to 900 hp $449.95
*Lunati's NEW pro mod 6.125 with ARP bolts good to 950 hp $659.95
*Manley pro billet 6.125 with ARP bolts........good to 1000 hp $1,069.00

If this is going to be an everyday driver, and see the race track from time to time I would look at the Lunati pro mod's or the Scat H beam. The price is about middle of the road, and the power you say your planning to make, you will have more than enough rod. If I can help with anything please let me know!!
