Default HELP!! Having Problems

A buddy of mine has a 01 Chevy truck with a LS1 out of a Z28. He, for some reason he put all the injection stuff from the old truck motor 327 on the 350 Z28 motor (manifold, injectors, etc). He has hedders, K&N fipk, wheatly tune, 3200 stall, electric fans... The problem is that sometimes it does not want to shift into second or third when you lay into it. And it also lets out a big puff of white smoke when if finally does shift, like its runing lean... We have gotten several different computers from wheatley thinking it may be the tune and now have 30# injectors ordered thinking it may be leaning out but then there is also the possibility it is the transmission (4l60e, stock). What do yall think?

Any advice, help would be great???????

Either the shift points are set higher than the rev limiter or the tranny is toast. The truck computer is fine for running the LS1, as long as it has been tuned properly.

Well we have got Wheatly to to burn us like 4 computers, thinking it was just bad programming but we are now coming to the conclusion that it's the truck. So you think it's prolly the trans or shift point. Thanks

what are the shift points set at and whats the limiter set to? If there is a reasonable amount of room(2-300RPM) between the two, then it's probably the transmission.

Well we have put it on the Tech 2 to check out the programing to see what all Wheatly changed, the rev and shift points were fine. It has pleny of room left to shift before the truck hit the rev limiter. So I'm thinking that the trans is just shot to hell. Which sometimes it shifts ok (not perfect but ok), then sometimes like i said it will not hardly shift at all....... Fudged up trans.....
