Unhappy Cracked front cover.

So the cam swap from hell continues....
I was trying to get the front seal out and i cracked the lip on the cover. Is there any way i can fix this?

Heres a pic of it. Im not real sure it can be welded. A little pic of the lip broke completly off.

With a can of WD40 and a roll of duct tape a good mechanic can fix anything.

I don't know where in OK that is but if You are North Central bring it up or send it to Me, I will weld it for You providing You haven't already put JB or some other contaminant on it. I will do it for free to try making Your project go better. Carl

I can get 1 from Gm parts direct for 62 shipped and it says comes with seal, gasket and bolts.

I just wanna hear it run!! Its been apart for 3 weeks so i guess a few more days wont kill me.

Dude it happens. my car was apart for 3 weeks. We broke a tooth off the crank bolt, broke an oil sending unit, had pvc hoses come apart in our hands, and other misc little thing go wrong. Like lack of specific tools at 3am. But that wasnt as bad as firing her up and getting no oil pressure. We took the pulley back off, checked the oil pump only to find that someone(won't mention names) forgot to put the O ring in. Oops. Now it's buttoned up and waiting for a tune.
