Default Most aggressive sounding, under the curve cam?

Hey guys, Im planning on putting a cam in soon and want to know just as the title says. I still want the meanest sounding cam, but would like to have a useable power curve. I would like to be shifting between 6k and 6500RPM.

If anyone has sound clips along with their dyno graph (or someone else who has that same cam) please share. Thanks, Sam

any clips or charts? its going in a 1986 monte carlo so i'll be running longtube headers and a little straight pipe to some glasspacks...so it should already sound a little more aggressive than a F-body exhaust

JBIRD02 - I was reading the link you posted about the ASA cam and it looks like a really nice curve. someone had a clip of their idle, in car w/ stock stall, and in car w/ 3600 stall and the cam was surprisingly rough idling (which i of course like)

I did not like how the car seemed to respond to the 3600 stall...would it be necessary or worth it to upgrade my stall if i dont go to the track much?

Also, how does it feel driving around town, and pull throughout the entire RPM range? Thanks

Hey Sam:

For stock heads I also have been impressed by the flat-TQ curve of the ASA cam.

If you bump up your CR, a number of us have done well with the 228/232 110 custom cam. With 10 degrees of overlap, it has plenty of "aggressive sound", and a nice balance of HP/TQ from 2500-6250 rpm.

I'll try to re-link my dyno graph up. While this is a great street cam, it does seem to respond to higher CR.

Good luck..WeathermanShawn.

With some of these cam recommendations you wont really have a choice about weather to get a stall or not.

Yeah, that car belongs to jmm98LS1. Our cars sound identical because we have the same exact dual exhaust setup except mine is 3". I dont have an A4, so you may wanna pm him for his take on which stall to use. However as far as a M6 goes, I'm very happy with the way it drives, and pulls strong through the rpm range to 6400.

what is the general rule for when a stall is needed, and which size would be a good compromise between street performance and the occasional street racing or drag run?

not to be a nag but please, if you make a cam recommendation, i would like to see a dyno graph or sound clip of some sort

one last thing for now...would any mods friendly to the wallet be worthwhile to do to stock heads
