Default Best Possible Heads For X1

I know this is a little bass ackwards, but what heads would work the best with an X1 cam? I've noticed a few guys running ported 5.3's. How about milled AFR's? Just curious what the experts think. Discuss..

Best ones are MTI 2E heads, they put this combo together, it works well with their heads.
WILWAXU went into the 10s with a X1/2E setup

2000 Z28 A4, old school MTI stage 2 LS1 heads, X1 cam, LS6 intake, TR long tubes, Borla, TCI4400, 3.73 gears, QA1's, dyno tune by Chris at ECS, 403.7rwhp 397.8rwtq, 11.19@120.30
Is this your cureent set up or are looking to change heads?

if i do go with the X1 which is what im pretty much leaning towards, im gonna go with the MTI 2E 5.3 heads. cuz i hear the X1 will be better combo with the 5.3!! i seen one guy with afr 205/x1. also there was a guy with TSP terminator heads/x1 making sick power.

Yes, this is my current setup. I was just wondering if 5.3's, or milled AFR's, or whatever would work better with the X1. I got my heads from MTI in 2002, before they called them stage 2E's. I know cylinder head technology has come a long way since then, so I wanted to know if there was a better option to go along with this cam.

BTW, I know how to use the search function. From what I can tell, this EXACT topic hasn't been discussed in a while.

The PRC 5.3l stage 2.5 head is defniately worth looking into. I know MTI has posted some good dyno results with the X1 & PRC heads. You can buy PRC heads from us or from MTI, either way you should see about a 45hp gain on the dyno! We currently have a big special going on PRC 5.3l heads & they are in stock!!

A 45hp gain over MTI 2E's? Or over stock heads? Can they be milled for a little more compression? Thanks for the info Jason.

Over a stock head. There is no way it would make 45rwhp over any other ported casting.

Definately over a stock casting. They can be milled or you can run a thinner gaskets

Oh ok. I swear I saw a similar WS6 down that way, but I cannot remember where last fall. Maybe on 29S or 706....

Im a few miles east of Binghamton. I don't have any website for my car, and I'm not sure Seth does either...but he'll have to answer that question. Ill PM you a few pics of my car, maybe you have seen it before.

New Era is awesome, they did my cam swap for me as well because I didn't have the time or ambition to do it myself. I would recomend them to anyone. I have a thread somewhere in the dyno section about my experience with New Era and the results along with my mods and video clip of my car with the cam installed.
