I say listen to Pat G, he know his shiznit. I voted 232/232, but the 230/230 would be great as well. I'd go with either but it sounds like you want to go 'BIG' so go with the bigger. I researched this to the death, believe me and allot are happy with either one. With some nice heads and one of those cams would be killer. Another one, not too get you thinking again that I liked was 228/232. Lift and LSA around the the 232/232 cam mentioned. I read a thread one that a guy explained having 8 cams all along those lines of cams mentioned plus more and his favorite was the 228/232. It boils down to the individual and what you want. Jsut through in the 232/232 and be done. By the way I think the 236/236 one is starting to get up there and I wouldn't personally go with that one.

I voted for the 232/232 cam. Pat spec'ed me out a 228/232 588/592 110+1 and I am very happy with this cam which I have had for over a year now. Final numbers 451/421.

Good luck brother!

you will not be disappointed with the cam i got...get it on a 111+2 mine was on a 111+4 and it had to close PTV on the intake so i retarded it 2 degrees and it had around .086 on the intake then...definitely a good cam i cant see much better than this for HP and TQ numbers...there is no compromise with it both numbers are high...

i drove it on the street and it has really good manner no surging or bucking at any rpm...i will see what the gas mileage is like but it seems like everytime i look over it is racing towards E...haha

also if you do the cam install yourself make sure you buy a new o ring for the pickup tube it will save you alot of headaches later...wish i would have known...

i wonder if that is put in the Ls1howtos if not it should be added...

I'm happy with mine but it takes quite a bit of driveability tuning to get the surge out of it.

so yours surges some...mine from the first drive out never surged...our cams look pretty close...guess it depends on the tuner

Overlap = [(Intake duration + Exaust duration)/4] - LSA * 2

I did the math on this cam(232/232) so the overlap is going to be 12 degrees at .50?

am i correct? that seems about right

Yup that's correct.. Remember it may sound cool, but the more overlap you have, the more of a pain it can be with city driving...The reverse split would be a good match if you plan on keeping your ls6 intake.

Have you searched the 228/232 110lsa xer cam? Its similar to some of the cams you are considering and there is a lot of info on it.

Patrick's 230/230 cam will do better in your motor, the diference between my design and his is that he uses XFI/XFI and I use XFI/XE-R lobes.
Bigger is not always better.
another you might consider is a custm reverse:

230/228 .612/.588 110-1 LSA (yes 110 LSA an 111 ICL)
This is a XFI/XE-R and a wicked one for cam only. I has best of both world, awsome trq and good carry after peak (usualy uncomon on advanced reverse splits)

The one he recently specd me was XFI/XE-R. Maybe he stolen the secret recipe. J/K
That reverse split does look like a good one though. I would like to see some #'s on it. Somebody get it and try it out.

the thing is which ever cam you go with they are going to be with in 5-10 hp of each other and you will always wonder which was the right one
