Default Mellings oil pump question

hey guys on the meelings oil pump do i use the red or blue spring? and also do i use the black or green o-ring? thanks guys

I think I have the blue spring and for sure the black o-ring in my melling.

what is the difference in springs? i never heard of this...

It raises the oil bypass pressure. One is OEM spec the other is I believe 10psi higher.

From what I have read, they come with the red (higher pressure) shim installed and if you want more stock pressure (actually still above stock) then replace with the blue shim. I think the red is overkill and you could pump the pan dry if you are not careful.

+1 on the 2 springs, not sure about pumping the pan dry tho......

Depends on how you use the car, this could be an issue with sustained high RPM like on a track.

use the BLUE spring and BLACK o-ring.

if you have an oil cooler,
or power adder that is tapped into the oil system
use the red.
