I've heard dealer techs say you can have it out the bottom in as little as two hours. Of course they are using a two post lift...

I'm also curious how long it is taking 1BADAIR, especially since he has a few under his belt now.

Removing the engine from the top is not that hard. You just have to tear the everthing off the engine first.

ive never dropped it out the bottom, but i have pulled one out top with auto trans still on, hood on, intake was removed and motor mounts were removed. radiator and condesor out helped

Out the top. Had to remove the front acc, intake, radiator/condensor/fans, but left the heads on.

depending on a few things my buddy and I can have mine out in about 2 hours or less.
I screwed up when I put my N20 on and ran the wires through the grommet by the pcm <which made it impossible to pull the engine harness out. The n20 wires are getting moved now so I don't have to leave the harness on the body again.
Auto's are easier as long as the trans lines come off the rad easy. You don't have to pull the console on them.
I'm trying to get a hoist. Then I will pull them out just to change cam/springs

out the top was a pain in my ***. i left the heads on, then when i was hooking up to it to pull it out, my cherry picker would not reach back far enough.... go out the bottom. lol

I have done a few out the bottom, now with mine I am going to try it out the top.
