Default How many miles did you have when you installed a bigger cam and has it held up??

This should be a good reference for people putting cams in with different mileages. I know I want some piece of mind to know that the bottom end isn't gonna go soon after...Please list what kind of cam and all specs and what the mileage on your car was when you installed and what it is now..Please list any differences you notice since the install.

I had about 120000 on my car when I did H/C and then at 130000 I put in a 3600 stall. If maintained properly they will last a long time even moded.

58000 on my TA when I did mods in sig. Runs strong and very happy with it. LS1s are great to work on. I'll never build anything other than LS types again.

The CETA had 32K when I put on the H/C package

92k miles! Running strong, just make sure you change that oil pump and chain and everything will be fine. And don't expect an old engine to rev to 7k.. keep it conservative with your cam selection.

I went with a 226 patriot camshaft. Shift points set to 6450.

I have had my cam torquer 1 (22K miles) for about 3 years (40K miles now) on my D/D with no problems.
Heads and N20 are my next mods.

I've got 93,000 miles on mine, and plan on doing a very agressive H/C/I setup in a few months. I'm not expecting any issues as I will be changing out all the possible things you should when doing the swap like different timing chain, and oil pump, and "yes" I plan on reving mine to 6,500-7,000 RPM. I am expecting it to hold up fine, however if it doesn't, that'll just give me an excuse to change out the bottom end

173K now, just changed most of the topend stuff when i did the H/C swap. All the cylinders still had the factory cross-hatching in them. it all depends on how the car has been maintained. Mileage is just a number
