Default LS6 to Vengeance FAST 90/LS2 90 Results

TFS215's 61cc, 224/228-112+2, 1-3/4 LT w/cats,
36lb/hr inj, HS 1.7s, 7.5pr, airbox.

I added the Vengeance ported FAST90 + ported LS2 90mm, with no other changes, not even tuning.

Made 3 passes. 2 of the 3 passes were good runs at 11.38 and 11.35. MPH is up around 2mph. I am quite impressed w/this intake and combo. Based on on how the car was running, I believe with a small amount of tuning, I may get 125mph and 11.1s. ha ha, if only that easy.

So, post is two fold. 1) Wanted to report this intake/combo as successful. The crew at Vengeance get an A++ on their intake setup.
2) What do I need to do to get solid 10.9s? Its just too close at this point to let go.

About all I can come up with is under drive pulley, more spark
and race gas. A cam change was originally in the plans, will this make all the diff or what? I need some solid hp changes, but cats stay on. Gears are not out of the question, but the last thing I want to consider.

Comments.

In theory E-85 would give you 10% more power, in your case that would be 42. I didn't dyno before the switch but I am making more HP than those with similar mods at the time of the dyno day. If you can tune it yourself it would be a cheap experiment.

Little more cam with an extended RPM range ~ mid 230s duration. More gear. Delete cats. Electric Water Pump.

Sorry if I missed it, but what were you running prior to the changes? Thanks.

I suspect the old combo was good on average around 11.5-11.6s, with a best of 11.399.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is E85? I do my own tuning, so no problem adjusting spark if needed. Is that race gas?

You have a 10 second car.

You don't need race fuel.
You don't need any suspension mods.

More seat time and some good air will get you there with the combo you have. You need to get your 60' times in the low 1.5x range and nail your shift points dead on.

Some things that will help but are not essential:
slicks and skinnies
3.90 gears
bigger duration on cam/ UD pulley

You need to get the car tuned.
The most important thing is gonna be seat time and gathering tips from others who have done it.
You might want to get a raptor shift light and raise the limiter to 6900.

PM me if you want to chat, and I'll give you a bunch of tips.

What was the da of those runs versus the previous ones with the ls6 intake? I definitely think more seat time can get you there.

It's just as good as race gas, 105 octane. You just have to find a gas station that sells it. It's $2.09 a gallon here. Your engine will run cooler as well, and you can add more timing. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...highlight=e-85

Thought about relocating the battery? What cat back is on there? If its restrictive, you could do cutouts, a pulley, and more seat time. Your have the power to go 10.9's but your gona have to drive like its no tomorrow.

Is that stuff safe for the engine and fuel lines, etc? $2.09? I pay 3.xx now for
91 octane though money for fuel isn't an issue when it comes to power. I'm guessing the stoich ratio for A/F is diff from gas and will need some tuning to adjust for mixture/spark. I like the idea, but I looked online and no one in Cali sells it I know of. Would be cool to experiment with for track days.

3.42 with DTE axles. Wonder what that pulley is really worth in HP?

Kooks LT 1-3/4 + x pipe w/cat + stock titanium exhaust.

I found this for you, http://www.e85refueling.com/location...e=CACalifornia We have nearly four times that many stations in colo. It is safe for your fuel sytem, they have all been upgraded to run a min. of 10% ethanol for many years. I've had it my car for about year with no issues. If you left the gas cap off it will draw moisture from the air, and if left long enough would lead to water building up in the fuel system and eventually damage some of the fuel system components. I would suggest leaving the gas cap on. LOL Stoich is 9.8:1 and just like gas 15% fuel more 8.4:1 for max power. Thats how mine is set up. You wont really need to adjust the spark for it to run well, but could pick up a little by adding some timing in the lower map areas. When I switched over all I adjusted was the stoich value and the car ran great. In fact the dyno #'s in my sig were only two days after I made the conversion, with no other tuning. The only draw back was the need for bigger injectors and pump. I maxed out the 42#er's and the walboro 255 pump. But even at 6500 rpm and an afr of 14:1 I had no knocking. Most stock short blocks would have blown for sure. Hope this helps and you can find a station near you that sells it, good luck.
