Thats way too close. Dangerously close IMO. .080/.100 is the standard ive always seen.

i'm sure cams like the Ms4 don't even have that kind of clearance. But yeah I agree, that does sound way close. To close to even thinking about relying on good springs to save your ***.

.070-.080 is considered minimum and "tight".

You'd be surprised how many people are running with that tight of clearance and don't even know it. Some never have contact while others have contact but never know it. If you like the cam, it's best to flycut for peace of mind or retard the cam a degree or two then re-measure.

wouldn't that play with the powerband of the cam alittle bit if you retard it some? i would imagine it would, but I guess to make it clear better who cares then.

good running MS3/4, motors. Later you have the heads off and see valve contact marks in the carbon. I guess thats normal for the room people run. out of sight....

Not when the intake valve is .016, you would need an additional .060 to be safe.

spring shim has nothing to do with piston to valve clearance.

I'd rather **** in the intake than run those clearance numbers. That intake clearance is close to the thickness of a fingernail. That's just me though.

Too close for comfort on any street setup. you need at least another /.040 to be a bit safer.
standard is .080/.100 but many run big cams at +/- .050
