just wondering because the last thread i posted i got a response that a cam upgrade is great but with out ported heads or after markets its not worth it i found that hard to believe. im doing the valve train up grades springs, seats, push rods exc... mainly wondering do the stock heads flow enough for a bigger cam!!! according to some im waisting my time. im just on a tight budget

Dont be so quick to be harsh on people mister dropped $15k & didn't upgrade his short block & spun a bearing.![Devil](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_devil.gif)
To anwser your question a reverse split cam is gonna be your best bet with stock heads. You'll want something like a 230/224 or something similar. And at least a LS6 intake manifold. I'd also suggest a port/polished TB & full exhaust if you wanna see the full potiential.

so contribute to helping him out rather than acting all high and mighty. its asshats like you that turn people away from asking for help, knowledge and advice...
to the OP, there are a varity of good cams out there that will work great with stock heads. like mentioned perviously, getting other bolt-ons in addtion to the cam you end up selecting will only help produce more power...
i personally have a 224 .581 @112lsa and so far for me it works great. very DD friendly and great pwer under the curve. when i had that cam and Lt's/ORY and SLP LM, and tune i dyned 366/356, starting numbers were 325/330. gains of 41/26 to the ground...

Anyone payin $500 for a LS6 intake is dumb, period. Like stated above you can get them all day long on here for $300-350 shipped. And they will increase you more than 5hp. It has been dyno proven time & time again.
And I would do a LS6 intake swap before I would mess with a balancer pulley anyday.

I just installed the G5X3 114 LSA in my 2001 ZO6. I had previously installed TPIS headers, ported LPE LS6 heads and a Momofied 90/90 Fast intake/TB.
