Default oil pan removal?

ok this w/e im puttin some headers on my buddiy's car, while we are into it, we're pullin the tranny because of an oil leak and replacing the rear main seal. and then i want to replace the oil pan gasket too, what do u have to do to get it out? remeber the tranny is already goin to be removed

removing the bell housing will make it a cake walk.
after that just remove the bolts that hold it on and it will pull out.

why would you replace the oil pan gasket its not leaking? if it aint broke dont fix it!!!

cars got 130,000 miles onit, figured while i had the tranny out and was replacing the seal anyway, might as well get the oil pan gasket. i know this has nothin to do with the oil pan this is a hugger orange auto SS 1 of 75 baby!

You have to lower the K member to remove the oil pan. Started the same project today. Going to put in a tubular K and rod bolts while I'm at it...

get a strut tower engine hoist and get the car in the air, undo the engine mount bolts and pull the motor up about an inch and loosen the cradle bolts but dont remove, will give you plenty of room to pull the pan

Sup Coleman! Wrenchin this weekend huh. Hadn't seen u around lately but it looks like ur doin OK. Ever get the NOS on the blue car? Heard you put some suspension stuff on too. I'll be doin H/C soon and then waitin for KDS to open and get some times I gotta clunky tranny mount right now driving me crazy so the TA has mostly been sittin till I get some motivation. Anyway, sorry to hijack just wanted to say hello.

Oh, might try to get up with you soon as I have a couple questions about a local tuner that I think you know. Later!

Alot of work if it isn't leaking. The LS1 gaskets are very durable. Not like the old Gen1's. If it is not leaking, I would bet that it won't. Just my opinion and I know I don't know your details.
