Default Fluctuating oil pressure problem

Yes I've used the search feature already and I have a different problem than every post I have read. So I just got done doing a head swap and ls6 intake as well b/c I previously had floated valves. Now the car starts up and runs smooth as can be again. However I noticed that when the car is warmed up to operating temp coming up to a light or stop sign the oil pressure fluctuates anywhere from id say 30-40psi and will stay right above 40 during normal driving and at higher rpm go to 50 psi and even bounce around a little bit while driving. My question is Im having a hydraulic problem with my clutch as well and when coming up to a light or stop sign the car idles super low until i come to a complete stop then it all the sudden realizes its idling to low and goes back to normal idle and this is where the oil pressure also fluctuates. Could my clutch problems cause this issue? This is on a 98 z28 with about
90k miles and im about ready to do a cam swap and yes i have a new ls6 ported oil pump. The car doesnt seem to lack ANY power and there is no knocking. I'm going to change the oil and filter today oh and its the stock sending unit on as well. Also another problem I'm having is sometimes when i hit a bump my guages go crazy, the service engine light flickers, the ASR light comes on and i cant turn the traction control back on and the car will for that moment seem like it misses then in like a few seconds everything comes back to normal WTF is goin on?

Check your oil pressure sending unit, I had to replace mine because my oil pressure needle was bouncing around all over the place. As for your other problems not to sure.

Yea I will most likely end up just replacing the unit, how much are they anyways? and whats the best place to get one any autoparts store like napa i suppose? I think i might try a mechanical gauge too and rip the filter open to check for shavings today which there better not be any

I got mine from the dealer, but I got a buddy who works there so I got it at cost. If you got a magnetic drain plug you should see any shavings attached to it.

All right so i figured out my problem with my guages flashing when i hit a bump, when i did the head swap i only hand tightened the ground wires on the back of the head and the bolts came loose . Just tightened em back up and no more problem and the oil pressure guage doesnt fluctuate while driving but when coming up to a stop light until I completely stop as soon as i push the clutch in it will rev down to almost 500 rpm and go to about 20psi then once i stop completely it idles back up to normal right at 1k to 1100 rpm and just under 40psi hot. I also changed over to penzoil platinum 5w-30 today and didnt have much of a choice other than to use a fram oil filter and now at cruising speed its at about 45psi and will jump more at higher rpm. So what do u guys think is causing my idle issue when coming up to a stop?

The oil pressure sounds about right. The idle problem might be from a vacuum leak.

Mine does the same thing... Not completely stopped.. but like 1-2 mph Right before I stop my RPMS drop and Oil pressure wiggles around 20 then idle kicks back up to normal and so does oil pressure.

Also.. If I'm stopped and turn the wheels.. it will make my rpms drop a bit when the power steering kicks in.

Any ideas?

Don't get dad new socks or a grill brush this year.
