That cam will work with 3200 stall up to 4400, difference is 60'
I used to do low 1.6 60' with my TCI 3500 in the past so if suspension s good, and not too heavy, mid 11s are achievable.

Ok with the 230/230 cam..... What is the lift and overlap? Would this cam work just as well with a M6?
I'm thinking of going cam only for a while, until i can afford built bottom end, heads, etc.
My car is a M6 with LT's, ORY, Dual/Dual, lid, Ported TB, and LS7 clutch. Most suspension parts are done. I will be going to a 9" rear by the end of the summer, was hoping to do the cam at the same time.

Ok went to the track today. best time was a 12.04 @ 114.9 with a 1.7 60ft. Race weight off 3645 with me in it... Yeah I know its a pig. The D/A if I remember correctly was in the upper 900's
If I would have taken the front sway bar off and disconnected the right rear shock, I would have been a 11. Also my umi LCA's and BMR SFC's are sitting at home, due to not having the time yesterday to put them on.. Oh well.

Thanks man, Yeah you have a couple more bolt ons than me, and you weight a lot less.
Here in the next few weeks, the car will be going on a diet, and I will get my suspension all worked out. Then I should be good for some solid 11's.
On a plus note though, I have the fastest cam only f-body in the northwest region.. I think by looking at our list, the closest one is only at like a 12.5 or 12.6 so that makes me pretty happy. ha ha
here is a video, of one of my runs today.

Chris, are you saying that it isn't a good idea to throw it on the dyno with a fresh tq. converter?? Is this for the health of the converter or just that it will show lower numbers? I will have the motor out for a freshen up & I wasn't planning on pulling the heads back off to change the cam.

Also you 60', cut that by another .2 and you'll be planted into the 11s. If you are hooking, do you have adjustable suspension? Sometimes all it take is dialing in the suspension.
You are also over 300 lbs heavier (.3 sec) and DA 900 (.15) so there is .45 sec vs Chris's times 12.04-.45= 11.59.
Theoreticaly that is what you should run. So the cam is dishing out similar numbers.
Very nice run that is a nice kill.

very nice numbers chrs1313. Has me really thinking of doing a cam swap instead of a 92/92 . I am sure it will not clear my heads though, but still tempting to try with flycutting.

There is more into it and you can definitely hit 11s but look at what is important, I read in your sig 12.72 (bolt ons) and 12.04 (cam only). That is .68 gain so as Chris, you gained a minimum of 50+rwhp
Also you 60', cut that by another .2 and you'll be planted into the 11s. If you are hooking, do you have adjustable suspension? Sometimes all it take is dialing in the suspension.

I dyno'd 319 hp and 325 tq with just my bolt on's and my stall. So more than likely I will be around the 380 range. Kinda wish I was closer to the 400 area, but thats fine, cause dyno numbers aren't everything.
Next time I race, I will be atleast 200lbs lighter, and I will try and stall the car up more than 1900 rpms. I will try and push it to around 22-2300, and see if that will give me a better 60ft. The last time I was at the track, when I didn't have a cam, I tried pre-stalling to 2700 and it pushed me across the line, and I red lighted.
How would a trans brake work on a cam only car? Would it be benifical?

Nice times there chris, car definitely moves. Makes me want to swap from m6 to auto with all the low e.t. you autos are running. I got my rear tore apart and sure enough, about 5-8 teeth ripped off 2 of the 4 spider gears in the Auburn posi. Im waiting on a master install kit so I can throw all new bearings/races in while shes tore apart. I think my car has a little more in it and the e.t doesnt show for the Mph Im getting.

^^^What heads are you running? If they are stock you are fine. Even 243's at 63cc should be fine. The only head you would have to worry about is something like a TEA 1.5, Or something similur in size.
