Wanting a little more power (cam)
I have a 2001 Corvette with about 8k miles. The mods I have now are TEA 1.5 heads TPIS long tubes with a MTI X-pipe, underdrive pully, ported throttlebody, wires and a comp. 224/224-581 lift on a 112 ls. with LS1 edit tuning. The heads also have the comp. double springs and all the extra hardware.
The car made 414.5 rwhp and 399 rwtq. I was looking to get around 430 rwhp does anyone have any sugestions on how to get a little more power. I keep reading where all these people are getting 400+ rwhp with juys a cam so naturally I am a little disapointed.

I think your car is making very respectable HP. As for the people getting 400+ rwhp with just a cam, must be some un-calibrated dynos out there. You could get a little more power by running the engine at 160* and bypassing the TB heat if you haven't already. Yella Terra rockers will give you another 7 hp plus higher reliability and less noise. Or may be a better PCM tune for a few more hp. Or you can just say screw it and throw a blower on there . . . but I don't think a monster cam is the answer, you lose driveability if you go too big. The one you already have is about right, IMO.

I already have a 160 stat. I have underdrive pully and all bolt ons. The only restriction is the stock catback. But this is a Corvette so the mufflers are not that restrictive. I even tried the bigger airbrige and taking off the catback. I would post the dyno numbers without the catback but it would put Borla and Corsa out of the Corvette muffler making bussiness.

David, leave it like it is.. you won't be happy with the drivablity of a bigger cam IMO, the 224 is a great all around cam and your making good torque. You could aways get a set of cutouts for the track.
Just put some slicks on that thing!!

How much more are you willing to spend to make more power? Comp Pro Mag 1.85 rockers will give you approx 0.050 more lift, but will your springs take kindly to being squeezed that much? That's $500. Gut the cats and add 02 Simms or just delete the post cat 02s with LS1 Edit. That's $100 or free if you already have LS1 Edit. Of coures if you have a thousand or two lying around some stage II or III heads should make 1320 feet look much closer.

Re: Wanting a little more power (cam)
I already have heads and all bolt ons, as well as a x-pipe no cats. I was just wanting to be up around 430 rwhp. I thought maybe a bigger cam would do it for me.
I see crazybosnian you have ran a 12.4 at 113 well I ran a 13.1 at 110 on street tires so yes I want a little more.(5000')

I'd say get a bigger cam, and you'll see 430 or so...

CrazyBosnian, To me, just a cam means just that, running through stock exhaust manifolds and stock heads. I guess what many people mean by "just a cam" is that's the only internal engine modification and they may have headers as well.
