(help)what kinda springs and retainer?? pics inside
ok so at the end of last summer i put on a set of 241 stock ported and polished heads.. i also put in a cam 224/224 .581 .. i was not sure what kinda springs and retainers where on the heads so i purchased a new set of springs and titanium retainers.. i just popped off the valve cover and took a look at what i had.. i compared them with the original stock heads off the car.. and it looks like my p&p'd heads have titanium retainers but am not sure.. i got some pics of them compared with the stockers.. can anyone tell me if they are titanium and what kinda springs i have.. they have a white stripe on em and appear to me to be beehive.. any help is greatly appreciated(stockers on left)

My Dart PSI 1511's were nitrided and had a dull appearance. I know the set we installed last summer were shiny. I guess I was wondering if the installer might have picked up one of the Dart sets that went up for sale when the heads first came out as there were a number of sets for sale when guys swapped them out for duals. However, I don't remember a white stripe on mine.
Here are my PSI 1511's. Note that the retainers shouldn't be used for comparison as Dart has their own retainers made and they differ from the titanium retainers sold by CV Products, who sells PSI springs.

I installed a set of PSI 1511's on a friends car last summer, they were the "ML" version and shiny as Aaron mentions above. The retainers that I remember look very much like the ones you have in your photo. You might want to contact CV Products and see if they recognize them. Also, if you have a spring checker you may be able to take some force measurements and with the wire diameter and spring diameter nail it down.

so it appears that the retainers are titanium.. so one would think that there should be decent springs in there.. at least to .600 lift.. so in all ur opinions.. should i leave em, or put the new ones in??
